High Carbon Ferro Silicon(high carbon silicon/silicon carbon alloy)
High carbon silicon is ferrosilicon with large carbon content,is usually used in steelmaking furnace.
High carbon ferrosilicon can not only react with oxygen in molten steel to deoxidize, but also dissolve the remaining carbon and silicon not oxidized into molten steel to increase silicon and carbon.
High Carbon Ferro Silicon Features
1. Advantages of deoxidation.
It contains high “silicon” element,thus when adding in the process of steelmaking,the silicon element reacts with oxygen to deoxidize the oxygen in the molten steel and improve the hardness and quality of the steel.Moreover,because silicon element has good affinity with oxygen,so the molten steel does not splash after it is put in.
2. Slag collection
It also has the advantage of slag collection.When put a certain proportion of high carbon ferrosilicon into molten steel,the oxides in the steel-making process can be quickly agglomerated,which is convenient for filtration treatment and help makes the molten steel more pure,greatly improving the density and hardness of steel.
3. Raising furnace temperature
High Carbon FerroSilicon is a good temperature raising material.Adding alloy lump in the process of steelmaking can improve the furnace temperature because of it’s high carbon content,increase the conversion rate of ferroalloy,and accelerate the reaction speed between molten steel and added materials.
4. Makes steel manufacturers saving cost!
